Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker ready to take on a senior practice role? We're recruiting for an Advanced Social Worker to join a dedicated Children's Social Care team in Colindale, London, where you'll manage complex cases, provide professional leadership and support colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and families.

Offering £37.54 per hour (Umbrella), this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking to combine frontline social work with mentoring, specialist practice and leadership responsibilities.

The Role

Working within a Resilience Framework, you will provide a comprehensive statutory social work service to children and families, managing complex safeguarding and permanence cases while ensuring interventions are timely, effective and child-centred.

You will work with a high level of autonomy, deputising for the Team Manager when required, supporting less experienced social workers and taking the lead in specialist areas of practice to drive high standards across the service.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a complex caseload involving safeguarding, child protection and permanence planning.

* Undertake high-quality assessments, care planning and interventions in line with statutory guidance.

* Assess and manage complex levels of risk to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

* Support, mentor and provide professional guidance to less experienced social workers and students.

* Deputise for the Team Manager when required, providing operational and practice leadership.

* Lead on designated specialist areas in accordance with departmental priorities.

* Prepare high-quality reports and assessments for court, panels and statutory meetings.

* Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support for children and families.

* Ensure accurate, timely and high-quality case recording.

* Promote reflective practice, continuous improvement and evidence-based social work.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current Social Work England registration.

Substantial post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Social Care.

Significant experience managing complex safeguarding and child protection cases.

Strong knowledge of children's legislation, safeguarding procedures and permanence planning.

Excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.

Experience mentoring or supporting the development of less experienced practitioners.

The ability to work independently while providing leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

A Practice Educator Award is desirable. Candidates who do not currently hold the qualification should be willing to achieve it during their first year.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

* Social Work England registration.

* A recognised Social Work qualification.

* Eligibility to work in the UK.

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

* Substantial post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Social Care.

* Experience managing complex safeguarding and permanence cases.
