We are a forward-thinking accountancy practice dedicated to providing expert advice to a diverse client bank. Our commitment to excellence and client success has driven our growth, and we are now looking for a talented individual to join us at a senior level, with the potential to become a key leader in our Barnsley office.
The RoleAs a Senior Accountant, you will deliver a first class service to our clients and provide accounts and audit support to a busy accountancy practice, working closely with senior management, and driving the firm’s strategic goals. You will be given the support, mentorship, and structured development plan needed to progress your career.
Key Responsibilities Include- Able to manage and take responsibility for own portfolio of clients
- Preparation and review of complex company financial statements
- Preparation and review of interim management accounts
- Preparation and review of personal tax returns
- Preparation and review of partnership accounts and returns
- Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Forecasts and business projections – not essential
- Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
- Train members of staff and allocate duties
- Contributing to business development, identifying opportunities for growth including group wide cross business referrals
- Working closely with the current Managers, Directors and Partners to shape the future of the firm.
- Overseeing compliance and ensuring exceptional client service.

- ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong background in practice (ideally 1+ years PQE) as an experienced Accountant in public practice. Finalists will also be considered with the right amount of experience and a drive to succeed and progress within the firm.
- Must be able to actively manage own workloads and take responsibility and ownership of work.
- Ambition to step into a leadership role and a clear vision for your career progression.
- Must possess strong IT skills (Office 365, Sage, Xero, Quick Books etc.)
- Must be fully adept with accounts preparation programs, preferably IRIS and MyWorkpapers.
- Appetite and confidence to manage a portfolio of mixed clients, and business development in an environment where the emphasis was on accounts, tax and advisory work is a must.
- Ideally have experience in a client facing role including meeting with new prospect clients.
- Salary up to £45k depending on experience
- Full Study support if required (CTA for example)
- 37.5 hours per week. (With possibility of flexible working around core hours 10.30am – 4.00pm)
