A well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Semi-Senior Accountant to join its growing team in South Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to work across a varied portfolio of clients and gain exposure to accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT. The role offers a supportive working environment, genuine opportunities to develop and the chance to build on your existing experience.
The position would ideally suit someone already operating at Semi-Senior level, although strong Junior Accountants with around 1-2 years' practice experience who are ready to step up will also be considered. AAT study support is available, alongside funding towards further studies, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accountancy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Preparing statutory accounts for Manager and Partner review
Completing client bookkeeping
Preparing personal tax returns
Preparing VAT returns
Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax returns
Developing and maintaining knowledge of cloud accounting software
Managing your own portfolio of work and ensuring deadlines are met
Working closely with clients and the wider team to deliver a high-quality service
Continuing to develop your technical accounting and tax knowledge
Who you are:
An experienced Junior Accountant or Semi-Senior Accountant currently working within an accountancy practice
Ideally, someone with around 1-3 years' practice experience
Someone with experience preparing accounts to Manager review stage
AAT qualified, part-qualified or currently studying towards AAT
A motivated individual who is keen to progress their career within practice
Someone who enjoys working with a varied client base and developing their all-round accounting knowledge
