Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a role where you can really take ownership?
A well-established manufacturing business based in Barnsley is looking for a proactive and hands-on Bookkeeper to join their small team. This is a varied role where you'll have the opportunity to take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, whilst also getting involved in the wider accounts process.
Working within a small business, you'll be someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking ownership of your workload. You'll manage the transactional side of the accounts, whilst also supporting with month-end processes, accruals and prepayments as required.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transactions
Processing purchase and sales invoices
Managing bank reconciliations and payments
Credit control and maintaining customer accounts
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
Assisting with month-end processes
Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments
Supporting with general accounts administration
Providing financial information and reports to management
Taking ownership of the finance function and ensuring deadlines are met
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in a bookkeeping or accounts role
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Organised with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable managing a broad range of transactional duties
Confident with bank reconciliations, invoicing and general bookkeeping
Experienced with month-end procedures
Knowledgeable in accruals and prepayments
Accurate and methodical in your approach
Comfortable working within a small-business environment
Someone who enjoys taking ownership and making a genuine contribution to the wider business
