About the PostWe are recruiting a Field Support Officer to join our Licensing Team within Regulatory Services. The role involves providing support services to the licensing team and advising and supporting licences and licence applicants. The successful candidate will work in a fast‑paced environment covering all aspects of licensing, including taxis and private hire, licensed premises and gambling establishments.
Responsibilities- Provide operational support to the licensing team.
- Advise and support licence holders and licence applicants.
- Investigate licensing enquiries and issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve licensing outcomes.
- Exercise sound judgement and decision‑making skills.
- Relevant level 2 qualification.
- Experience using a range of computer applications and ICT, including Microsoft Office.
- Practical experience of dealing with members of the public.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Basic Criminal Record Check required.
- Must be able to provide reasonable evidence of significant periods of time living abroad, if applicable.
- Must hold all necessary legal documents, such as a valid visa, if required (Barnsley Council does not sponsor).
- Previous experience working in or with licensing or a related regulatory environment is desirable.
