GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Barnsley. As a TA, this is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting individual pupils or small groups with learning activities.
• Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons.
• Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote a calm, productive setting.
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and social skills.
• Preparing learning materials and supporting daily classroom routines.

To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need to:

• Have experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting.
• Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic about supporting young learners.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply.
• Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years.
