Location: Barnsley (S70 & S71)
Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a confident, organised, and reliable Cover Supervisor looking to support learning across classrooms in the S70 & S71 areas of Barnsley, Sheffield?

GSL Education are seeking dedicated Cover Supervisors – Supply to work in schools across Barnsley (S70 & S71). This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain classroom experience while ensuring pupils continue to engage in learning during staff absences.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classes during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning.
• Maintain positive behaviour and a focused classroom environment.
• Support pupils’ understanding of lesson tasks.
• Manage classroom resources and ensure pupil safety.
• Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety.

Requirements for the role:

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A proactive, flexible, and professional attitude.
• The ability to engage and motivate pupils effectively.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
