Executive Headteacher (Hub Lead) – Dodworth St John’s CE Primary Academy

Start date:

Closing date: 10 January 2026, 11:55 PM

Dodworth St John’s CE Primary Academy is a school on a journey. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and talented Headteacher to work with a special community of children, staff and parents to lead them in the next stage of their development.

As a Trust, we work in Hubs where schools close to each other are overseen by an Executive Headteacher. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader to lead their own school whilst also leading a Hub, providing school improvement support to other schools and working with Headteachers to exploit the opportunities of close school collaboration.

We Are Looking For Someone Who
  • Can provide strong strategic leadership and effective challenge to Headteachers across a Hub of schools.
  • Is confident in line managing Headteachers and driving rapid, sustained school improvement.
  • Has high expectations and a clear focus on excellence, accountability and outcomes for all pupils.
  • Works collaboratively to share best practice and develop effective improvement strategies across schools.
  • Can lead their own school with clarity and purpose, securing high-quality teaching, learning and inclusion.
  • Embeds a clear Christian vision and values, modelling integrity, inclusivity and positive relationships.
  • Prioritises safeguarding, wellbeing and equality of opportunity for all children.
  • Is skilled in governance, financial oversight and the effective use of resources.
  • Leads with resilience, moral purpose and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • When I interviewed for the Headteacher role at Horbury Bridge Academy, the Trust’s collaborative working led to rapid improvements while preserving our unique identity and ethos.
  • Having been a Headteacher of a Local Authority school before joining Enhance, I can fully appreciate the support (school improvement, financial, HR or estates). The Central Team know each school very well and understand the different contexts that our schools serve.
  • The support and challenge provided through visits and development opportunities from Enhance Academy Trust have been instrumental in driving meaningful change. These opportunities offer clarity on our goals and ensure that our leadership remains proactive and aligned with current national initiatives.
