Role - Assistant Headteacher - SEMH School

Location - Barnsley

Salary - Up to £50K | Full Time (40 hours / week)

The Leader Group is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of an Assistant Headteacher for our client, a well-established specialist SEMH school in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and committed leader to make a lasting impact in a school. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading staff, driving school improvement, and supporting the Headteacher with both strategic planning and operational leadership.

• Be a visible and proactive member of the senior leadership team.
• Lead on staff development and embed best practice across the school.
• Support the Headteacher with the School Development Plan.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and student outcomes.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

• A forward-thinking leader with experience of driving change and improvement.
• Someone with the skills to develop staff and foster a collaborative, reflective culture.
• A leader who can inspire high expectations and shape a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
• An excellent communicator, confident in deputising for the Headteacher.
