History Teacher

Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: £150 to £220 per day
Start Date: September 2025

Are you a passionate History Teacher eager to bring the past to life and develop critical thinking in young learners? GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join secondary schools in Barnsley this September. This is an excellent opportunity to engage students with historical events, debates, and perspectives across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver compelling lessons covering a broad range of historical periods and themes.

• Encourage critical analysis, discussion, and enquiry among pupils.

• Assess and monitor student progress and provide effective feedback.

• Foster an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to department initiatives and extracurricular activities.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in History or Humanities.

• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching history.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
