As a Trust we were excited to have been chosen by the Department for Education as their approved sponsor to open a new secondary school to support the increasing population of Barnsley. In September 2021 Trinity Academy St Edward’s opened its doors to a founding cohort of Year 7 students from across the town.
We are now seeking a PE teacher to join our expanding team and become a key player in the development and success of Trinity Academy St Edward’s. The role of teacher of PE is such an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing team as it continues to establish itself within our wonderful academy. As well as ensuring our children benefit from a strong curriculum offer in PE, our team provide a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities.
The role is ideal for a current teacher of PE (experienced or early career) to contribute to curriculum development and be an integral team player in a very talented group of professionals.
You will be able to collaborate regularly with other PE teachers in our Trust and benefit from many Trust wide sporting events and competitions. Maximum participation is an integral part of our offer, and we want someone with the same commitment and drive to ensure our children get as many opportunities to represent their school as they can.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an outstanding colleague with an unrelenting drive to improve the life chances of our children. You will have secure subject knowledge and demonstrate a clear passion and enthusiasm for your subject. Inclusion is at the heart of all we do at Trinity Academy St Edward’s and as an outstanding classroom practitioner you will champion all of our children and use your skills, experience and craft to alleviate any barriers to learning.
- Collaborate regularly with other PE teachers within the Trust on curriculum development and delivery.
- Provide a wide range of extracurricular opportunities and ensure maximum participation in school sporting activities.
- Contribute to the development of the PE curriculum and assessment practices.
- Support inclusive practice to remove barriers to learning for all students.
- Secure subject knowledge in Physical Education.
- Strong passion and enthusiasm for PE and student development.
- Commitment to inclusion and supporting all learners to achieve.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to Trust-wide events and initiatives.
