Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding new role after half term? We are recruiting for a dedicated specialist teacher to join a well-established special needs provision in the Barnsley area. The setting caters for primary-aged pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEND), providing a highly inclusive, nurturing and structured learning environment.

This specialist academy offers a calm, purposeful and supportive setting where skilled staff build strong relationships with pupils, enabling them to develop their confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing. The curriculum is ambitious, tailored and designed to meet diverse SEND needs, helping pupils make meaningful progress in a safe and nurturing environment.

The most recent Ofsted report rated the school Good, highlighting how pupils "learn in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment" and how parents say their children are "thriving" and "flourishing."

• Deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching to pupils with a range of SEND, including those with complex needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet individual EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) targets.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and senior leaders.
• Use ongoing assessment to track progress and adapt learning accordingly.
• Promote positive behaviour using consistent, nurturing and trauma-informed strategies.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment that supports SEMH, communication and sensory needs.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching in a SEND school, specialist provision, PRU, or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of SEN frameworks, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and inclusive practice.
