We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply and cover basis across mainstream and specialist provisions in Barnsley and the surrounding areas. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small-group basis
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions
• Following individual support plans and behaviour strategies
• Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCos, and support staff
• Providing personal care where required (training provided if needed)
• Promoting independence, engagement, and wellbeing for all pupils

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)
• Ability to travel to different schools across Barnsley and nearby areas
• A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable Training / Qualifications

(Highly advantageous but not essential)

• Team Teach / Positive Behaviour Support
• Personal Care / Manual Handling
• Speech and Language training
• Autism Awareness
• Moving & Handling or Medical Needs training
