Position: School Meals Supervisory Assistant

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
  • First Aid Training (desirable)
  • Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities
  • Basic Health and Safety Awareness
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to equal opportunities
  • Experience of administering first aid
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
  • Good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with pupils and other staff members
  • Ability to react in a positive manner to difficult situations which may arise amongst children
  • Ability to identify own training and development needs and cooperate with means to address these
  • Ability to encourage the children in constructive and co-operative play
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain confidences regarding children and colleagues
  • Commitment to work in line with the school ethos and mission
  • Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development in connection with the post
  • Compliance with policies relating to Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and data protection
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure to work in an environment dealing with young people
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare for all
