A number of primary schools across Barnsley are seeking committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences for pupils across Years 3 to 6.

These schools are welcoming, well‑resourced primary settings that place a strong emphasis on creating a positive, structured and supportive learning environment. Staff work closely together to maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement while ensuring pupils feel valued, confident and encouraged in their learning journey.

As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will take responsibility for delivering high‑quality lessons across the KS2 curriculum, supporting pupils to develop key skills in preparation for secondary education. You will plan engaging learning activities, assess progress, and create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, confidence and independence.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 2
• Support pupils in developing core literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills
• Maintain a positive and well‑structured classroom environment
• Assess, track and report on pupil progress
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
• A committed and professional approach to teaching
• Passion for supporting pupil development and achievement
