Career Teachers is excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 class at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Barnsley.

At this one-form entry Primary School, the classrooms are led by compassionate, enthusiastic, and highly skilled educators who value the development and well being of each child under their supervision. They cherish and appreciate the distinctiveness of each of their students and strive to assist them in growing confidently and flourishing in their unique identity.

• Assist the children in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual targets
• Implement strategies to support academic development
• Foster a positive and nurturing environment to promote confidence and independence
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent progress

• Experience in supporting children within a classroom environment, including small group work and 1:1 support
• Patience, empathy, and be skilled at building rapport with children
• Confidence in implementing personalised learning plans.
• Qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential)
• Good skills as a team player who is adaptable and proactive in their approach

All roles will require an enhanced criminal record disclosure (DBS), although we can help with this process a new application is required if your current DBS is not on the update service, and reference checks.
