Milk Education is seeking a passionate, skilled, and resilient ICT Teacher to join a welcoming and forward‑thinking secondary school in Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop essential digital skills, technical knowledge, and confidence in ICT and Computing.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that promote digital literacy, problem‑solving, creativity, and safe technology use, preparing students for further education and the modern workplace. This full‑time position is available for an immediate start or from September 2026, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality ICT and Computing lessons in line with the national curriculum and relevant exam specifications
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Develop students’ digital literacy, technical knowledge, coding skills, and understanding of online safety
  • Teach the effective use of software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and presentation software
  • Support students in developing practical ICT skills and real‑world digital competence
  • Track, assess, and report on student progress, using assessment data to inform planning and intervention
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all learners can thrive
  • Encourage students to develop creativity, problem‑solving skills, and an interest in technology
  • Support and participate in extracurricular activities, including computing clubs and technology‑based enrichment opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider school teams to support curriculum development and positive student outcomes
  • Maintain high professional standards in line with school expectations and Milk Education values
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching ICT and/or Computing at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Strong subject knowledge of ICT systems, software applications, digital literacy, and computing concepts
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education
