This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong STEM subject knowledge who is ready to begin, or continue to develop, a rewarding career in further education.

Working within our Engineering department, you will support the delivery of high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of STEM programmes, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.

As a STEM Teacher, you will plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and learning activities that inspire learners and support them to achieve their potential. You will teach across a range of programmes, including Level 1–3 Diplomas, T Levels, Apprenticeships and specialist short courses where appropriate, ensuring learning is aligned to curriculum and awarding body requirements.

You will assess learner work and monitor progress, providing timely and constructive feedback that supports development and achievement. Through effective teaching, assessment and pastoral support, you will help learners build confidence in their subject area and develop the skills they need for future success.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities, helping to ensure programmes remain current, innovative and relevant to employer needs. You will also support the integration of emerging technologies and industry developments where appropriate.

A key part of the role will involve promoting safe working practices, equality, diversity and inclusion, and creating a learning environment where learners feel supported, challenged and motivated to succeed.

About You

You will be passionate about your subject area and committed to helping learners succeed. Whether your experience comes from industry, higher education or an educational setting, you will bring strong STEM knowledge alongside a genuine enthusiasm for sharing that expertise with others.

You will be an excellent communicator, capable of building positive relationships with learners and colleagues, and confident in supporting learners to make progress from their individual starting points.
