Are you a creative and passionate Design & Technology Teacher looking for your next opportunity? Milk Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join their team from September 2026
.

This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging creativity, innovation and practical problem-solving while delivering an engaging Design & Technology curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum, including designing, making, evaluating and technical knowledge
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can succeed
  • Assess, monitor and support student progress, adapting your teaching to meet a range of learning needs
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure all workshop and classroom activities comply with health and safety requirements
  • Encourage creativity, independent thinking and confidence through hands-on learning
  • Support extracurricular opportunities such as STEM projects, design competitions and enrichment activities where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for students
  • Maintain high professional standards while supporting the values and ethos of the school
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education
