Overview

Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley to recruit a passionate History Teacher
. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department where you ll inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging them to explore the past, think critically, and develop a deeper understanding of the events and people that have shaped the world.

The Role

As a History Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can achieve.
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress, adapting your teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Develop students  analytical, evaluative and critical thinking skills through engaging historical enquiry.
  • Encourage curiosity and a genuine interest in historical events, societies and cultures.
  • Support students in developing their confidence with source analysis, interpretation and evidence-based arguments.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success of the Humanities department.
  • Uphold the school s values while maintaining high professional standards.
About You

We re looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to inspire, engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one through Milk Education.
