Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher

Location: Barnsley

Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Full-time / Part-time, Day-to-day / Long-term

Overview: GSL Education invites applications for a Computer Studies Teacher to join forward‑thinking school communities in Barnsley. The role focuses on delivering engaging lessons in programming, data representation, cyber safety, and computing systems, while encouraging students to develop confidence in technology and digital literacy.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons that develop technical knowledge and digital skills.
  • Teach topics such as programming, data representation, cyber safety, and computing systems.
  • Encourage logical thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving through practical activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback that supports continuous improvement.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet different abilities and learning styles.
  • Promote responsible, safe, and effective use of technology within the classroom.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Computer Studies, Computing, or a related subject is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of computing concepts and digital technologies.
  • Ability to engage students through interactive and practical learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
