Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher ready to inspire a love of literature and language while helping students achieve their full potential? A welcoming secondary school in Barnsley is seeking a committed English Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop their reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills. You will plan and deliver well-structured lessons, assess progress effectively and create an inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to build confidence and achieve their best. • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of individual students.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A passion for delivering high-quality English lessons.
• An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
