We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Grade
4) to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. This role is essential in helping to create an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential. As a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support.
You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support
- Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students.
- Completing records/ pupils plans
- Leading small and whole class group work
- Experience in a school or similar setting
- IDEALLY experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs
- MUST be educated with GCSE Math's and English or equivalent
- NVQ L3 qualification or working towards
Salary for a grade 4 Teaching Assistant is £21,110 (Starting salary) - £22,501 actual annual salary (FTE £27,274) working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust.
This is a full time Mon-Fri (Term time only) position. The working hours are 8.50am to 3.55pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8.50am to 4.10pm Wednesday and 8.50am to 3.45pm Friday.
