We are currently looking to recruit a caring, knowledgeable, friendly person in the role of Parent Support Advisor, who is keen to be part of our exciting journey.

We are seeking to appoint a flexible team player who is able to work with all members of the school’s community, across Laithes Primary School. They will need to be well motivated, tenacious and be confident enough to use their own initiative. In addition, they must have a firm but fair manner and a genuine desire to support the families of the children with whom they work.
They will be expected to uphold all the school policies and procedures, paying particular attention to the positive behaviour and reward strategies. The successful candidate will be given the support of a caring school team.
- Support families to enhance children's educational access and address barriers.
- Focus on early intervention and preventative activities within a school setting.
- Provide advice, support and guidance for parents including early help;
- Work with parents in a school context, supporting them and building their abilities to support their children positively;
- Encourage good relations and effective dialogue between parents and the school;
- Support parents and their children through transitions;
- Provide parenting support, run classes, and promote positive parenting.
- Work with schools and parents in collaboration to build programmes that increase levels of support for children’s learning and well-being;
- Work with people from all walks of life, in a non-judgemental manner;
- Support parents of children with social, emotional, or behavioral issues.
- Offer information and referrals to local services.
- Facilitate parent engagement in learning and transitions.
- Promote good attendance, identify causes of absence, and work with families and attendance officers
- Maintain records, evaluate work, and participate in cross-agency groups.
- Support the school’s work on positive mental health for all.
- Be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related discipline;
- Experience with children and families, delivering support, and working in communities
- Experience in a mental health role with children, possibly school based, and a commitment to further training;
- Have experience of working within the community, particularly with children and their families;
