My client is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers within its field of premium glass process engineering and associated products supplying into a wide variety of industries. The company is a well established producer to the global markets, having plants in the UK, Europe, Asia, and America. The Knottingley site is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this globally secure organisation.

Key Skills

· Apprentice Trained Engineer in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

· Experience of PLC systems & Automated machinery

· Understanding of PPM systems

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and maximising machine efficiencies. The ideal candidate will come from an electrical or mechanical engineering background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time served engineer with electrical bias (but some multi-skilled knowledge) and have process machinery manufacturing experience.

If you have worked on PPM systems, it would be advantageous. Electrically you will be able to fault find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors and AC motors, sensors, and various control systems. There will be an element of electrical installation as required, typically lighting and small power. Knowledge of plc electronics desired. Mechanically you will be able to work on drive train systems, rollers, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and some hydraulics..
