Senior / Lead Mechanical Engineer

What will you be doing?

· Leading mechanical design and engineering projects from concept through to manufacture and installation

· Producing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation

· Managing project timelines, budgets and technical deliverables

· Supporting customer meetings and technical discussions

· Coordinating with manufacturing, procurement and installation teams

· Mentoring and supporting junior engineers

· Driving continuous improvement across engineering standards and processes

Where you'll be doing it
You'll be joining a well-established engineering business specialising in bespoke mechanical handling and engineered systems projects across a range of industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their engineering team in Barnsley.

What you'll need

· Strong mechanical engineering and project delivery experience

· Experience with in mechanical handling, special purpose machinery, industrial equipment or heavy engineering environments

· Proficiency using 3D CAD packages such as Solid Works, Inventor or similar

· Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM and engineering best practice

· Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams

· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

· Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline preferred
