Axon Moore are supporting a leading manufacturing business in the appointment of a Interim Accountant. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting one of the business units, ensuring financial processes are executed consistently and working closely with operational finance, tax, audit, and wider finance teams.

Key

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for the business unit
  • Ensuring accurate and timely balance sheet and profit & loss reporting across assigned cost centres
  • Reviewing, supporting, and processing journal entries with appropriate documentation and controls
  • Managing fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation and compliance with company policies
  • Preparing quarterly reporting packages
  • Reviewing trial balances and analysing movements and variances to ensure financial accuracy
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Supporting the preparation of tax packs and corporation tax reporting requirements
  • Acting as a key business partner to Operational Finance team, providing high-quality financial support and insight
  • Supporting statutory reporting requirements, VAT returns, Intrastat submissions, and other regulatory filings
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax compliance activities
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet reviews
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, standardisation, and best practice across finance processes
Ideal Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience within financial accounting, management accounting, or a corporate accounting environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build relationships and effectively partner with operational and finance stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established in a highly visible finance role, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and broad responsibility across accounting, controls, compliance, and business partnering activities.

The position is a 12-month contract with a flexible start date - whether you're available immediately or need up to a month, both can be accommodated.
