Support Worker, Healthcare Nursing

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Hoyland, Barnsley.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

The service currently supports 2 females and 3 males ages ranging from 50s to early 70’s with mild to moderate learning disabilities, mobility and personal care needs. The people we support enjoy being supported with social and leisure activities , such as accessing the local community and wider areas including Barnsley football club. The people we support when supported at home enjoy arts and crafts, playing games and music.

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

• Days:
  Between 07:00-21:30
• Waking Nights: 21:15
  -07:30

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

• 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) + a variety of benefits including pension and holiday buying options. Permanent/Fixed term contracts only.
