Residential Support Worker

✨ Support young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a residential setting, including sleep-in shifts. You'll draw on your EBD experience and First Aid training to help create a safe, consistent environment and support daily life. ✨

Hours

⏰ Average of 168 hours per month on a variable rota that includes sleep-in shifts (12pm-12am, 8-hour sleep-in, then 8am-12:30pm) ⏰

The role

🥼 As a Support Worker you'll be part of a residential team caring for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties aged 8-18. The role exists to provide day-to-day support, stability and guidance within the home. You'll work to agreed rota patterns including sleep-ins, with hours reviewed in line with the specific home you're based in.🥼

What you'll be doing

✔ Providing day-to-day care and support to young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
✔ Working rota'd shifts including sleep-ins, helping to maintain consistency and stability in the home.
✔ Using your First Aid training and safeguarding awareness to promote the safety and wellbeing of young people.
✔ Supporting young people with routines, activities and their individual support needs.
✔ Keeping accurate records and maintaining full compliance documentation in line with regulatory expectations.
✔ Taking part in ongoing training and residential care development, including Level 3/Level 4 apprenticeships as required.

What we're looking for

✔ Experience working with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
✔ First Aid training.
✔ Preferably a Level 3 qualification relevant to care or working with young people.
✔ Transferable experience from adult services, autism or ADHD support is welcome.
✔ Understanding of, or willingness to develop, knowledge of Ofsted requirements for residential settings.
✔ Flexibility to work a rota that includes sleep-in shifts and variable monthly patterns.
