Commercial Property Solicitor
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Property Solicitor to join a well‑established, client‑focused legal practice in Barnsley that provides a full range of legal services to individuals and businesses across South Yorkshire and beyond. As a Commercial Property Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload of commercial property transactions, delivering expert legal support to a diverse client base including developers, investors, landlords and business occupiers.
You'll play a key role in advising on a broad range of matters, ensuring transactions are handled efficiently and commercially from instruction through to completion. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative team, with hybrid working flexibility and genuine scope for progression in a varied and rewarding environment.
- Managing a personal caseload of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work, leases, and development transactions.
- Advising clients on the legal and commercial aspects of property transactions.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts for sale, agreements for lease, leases, licences and related documentation.
- Conducting title investigations, reviewing searches and resolving complex title issues.
- Liaising with clients, agents, lenders and other professionals to progress transactions efficiently.
- Supporting business development initiatives and building strong client relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and firm standards throughout each matter.
- A qualified Solicitor OR Cilex qualified (England & Wales) with proven experience in commercial property law.
- Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to provide pragmatic and solution‑focused advice.
- Organised and detail‑oriented, with strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- A clear communicator who can build lasting relationships with clients and referrers.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
