Workshop Supervisor (Fleet Services) - Barnsley

£19.66 per hour, weekly pay

Monday to Friday - 7am-4:45pm

We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Supervisor / Senior Vehicle Technician to work on behalf of the local authority in the Barnsley area. You'll be working within a busy vehicle repair workshop and play a key role in delivering essential council services to the community.

Responsible for all operational aspects of the Local Authority fleet maintenance function, ensuring the delivery of the maintenance program within existing budgets, on time and to the standard required by the relevant legislation.

• Undertake and supervise servicing and repairs of vehicles and plant
• Work in an efficient and cost‑effective manner with minimal downtime
• Act as Authorised Examiner Delegated Manager, manage and prepare vehicles for MOT/HGV tests
• Manage a team of employees – recruitment, one‑on‑one reviews, motivation and training
• Provide support and contribute accurate information for monitoring and budget purposes

• Previous experience as a Workshop Supervisor / Vehicle Technician
• Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification
• Cat C driving licence
• Experience of financial management and financial procedures
• People management experience

Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates must be able to pass a basic DBS check.
