CEO -Maternity Cover

Hamilton Barber Recruitment are delighted to be supporting Barnsley CVS in the search for an experienced and strategic leader to join the organisation as Chief Executive Officer (Maternity Cover).

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a well-established charity that supports the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector across Barnsley.

As CEO, you will provide strong leadership and direction to ensure the continued delivery of the organisation’s strategic objectives, maintain trusted partnerships and support staff and volunteers during this important period.

The Role

You will:

• Lead the implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan

• Work closely with the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team

• Ensure financial sustainability and strong organisational performance

• Represent Barnsley CVS with partners, funders and key stakeholders

• Maintain effective governance and organisational oversight

• Foster a positive, inclusive and people-centred culture

This role requires a confident leader who can operate both strategically and operationally while ensuring continuity and impact across services.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced leader who has:

• Significant senior leadership experience (minimum 5 years)

• Strong financial management and risk management expertise

• A track record of securing funding and generating income

• Experience working with Boards of Trustees and senior stakeholders

• A strong understanding of the VCSE sector and charity governance

• Excellent partnership building and communication skills

You will be a values-driven leader with strong emotional intelligence, sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple stakeholders.
