Production Operative

At Haywood & Padgett, we take pride in being one of the UK’s leading bakeries, producing delicious baked goods enjoyed nationwide. We are looking for motivated and reliable Production Operatives to join our team in Carlton, Barnsley. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced production environment, ideal for those with food industry experience who want to be part of a supportive and hardworking team.

Location: Carlton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts – Days (7 am–7 pm) and Nights (7 pm–7 am), on a rotating 3-on/3-off basis

Pay Rate: Packing Operative: £13.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing contract with immediate starts available

Key Responsibilities:

Weigh ingredients following job sheets

• Mix ingredients manually (gloves provided)

Operate or assist with bakery machinery as required

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the production area, including equipment, floors and surfaces

Unbox and manually handle ingredients

• Conduct visual inspections of ingredients and finished products

Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards

What We’re Looking For:

A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic

Previous experience within a food environment is essential

Reliable and punctual

Physically fit and able to work under time-sensitive conditions

Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality control
