We are currently recruiting Fabricator Welders on behalf of our well-established client based in Barnsley. This is a permanent opportunity offering either day or night shifts, allowing you to choose the schedule that best suits you.

Working in a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including:
  • Universal Beams (UBs)
  • Universal Columns (UCs)
  • Parallel Flange Channels (PFCs)
  • Circular Hollow Sections (CHSs)
  • Carry out cutting, grinding and welding to specification.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Safely operate hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment.
  • Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment where required.
  • Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all health and safety procedures.

About You

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to handle steel materials safely.
  • A safety-first approach with a good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred (but not essential):

  • A recognised qualification in Fabrication and Welding.
