Digital Marketing Assistant Job Overview
Are you interested in a career in digital marketing and communications? Do you have creative flair and an innovative approach? We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant to join our fantastic Strategic Communications and Marketing Team. Supported by the Strategic Communications and Marketing Manager for Culture and Visitor Economy, you’ll be marketing our award‑winning Barnsley Museums service.
Responsibilities- Help deliver marketing plans, create content for exhibitions, events, visitor attractions, and maintain and update digital channels including websites, newsletters, and social media. Drive visitor numbers, ticket bookings, and media coverage.
- Work with both the Strategic Communications and Marketing team and the Barnsley Museums team, building strong working relationships.
- Produce innovative and creative digital campaigns that engage visitors and residents.
- Handle all aspects of digital marketing from content generation to post‑production, taking ownership of projects and making decisions.
The role requires a Basic Criminal Record Check, the ability to speak English to an appropriate standard, and the provision of a reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of living abroad. Candidates must be prepared to start work with all necessary legal documents such as a valid visa. The post is politically restricted.

Salary: £25,583 - £25,989.
Working arrangements:
Some evening and weekend work including Agile working.
Hours per week: 37.
Contract type:
Permanent.
