Barnsley Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Community & Events Team Manager with leadership skills to motivate a team. We’re looking for someone to develop innovative fundraising opportunities and help make a real difference to people living with a life-limiting illness and those close to them.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to lead our Community and Events Team, developing and delivering an ambitious programme of community fundraising activities and events that inspire support across Barnsley and the surrounding area.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for delivering income targets through a well-planned programme of community fundraising and events. You will lead and inspire the team, develop strong relationships with supporters, volunteers and community organisations, and identify new opportunities to grow sustainable income for the hospice.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will ensure fundraising activities are innovative, well organised and deliver an excellent supporter experience while raising vital funds to support the specialist care Barnsley Hospice provides.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate and develop the Community and Events Team to achieve income targets and deliver high-quality fundraising activities.
- Develop and deliver an ambitious community and events fundraising plan aligned to the hospice’s strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, businesses, schools, supporters and volunteers.
- Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities, campaigns and community partnerships.
- Oversee the planning, delivery and evaluation of the hospice’s community fundraising events and activities.
- Monitor income, expenditure and performance against agreed budgets and KPIs, providing regular reports to the Head of Fundraising.
- Use CRM systems and fundraising data to monitor performance, evaluate activity and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the hospice, particularly Marketing, to maximise fundraising opportunities and supporter engagement.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience delivering successful community and/or events fundraising activities.
- Has experience building and managing strong supporter and community relationships.
- Has experience planning and delivering fundraising events or campaigns.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can plan, prioritise and deliver multiple projects while meeting income targets.
- Is confident using data and CRM systems to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
- Is proactive, organised and results-focused, with the ability to identify new fundraising opportunities.
- Shares the values of Barnsley Hospice and is passionate about making a difference for patients and their families.
