Are you an experienced and confident Children’s Social Worker ready to step into an Advanced Practitioner role? We are seeking a skilled Advanced Social Work Practitioner (AP) to join our Children’s Assessment & Duty Service in Yorkshire.

This is a key role within a fast-paced frontline team, focused on delivering high-quality, timely assessments and safeguarding interventions that improve outcomes for children and families.

• Lead on complex child protection and safeguarding assessments.
• Provide high-quality analysis of risk and need within statutory timescales.
• Support effective decision-making at the front door of Children’s Social Care.
• Offer mentoring, guidance, and practice leadership to less experienced social workers.
• Contribute to strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
• Champion best practice and ensure assessments are child-focused, strengths-based, and outcome-driven.

You will play a vital role in ensuring children receive the right intervention at the right time — whether that is short-term support, step-down services, or longer‑term planning.

We are looking for a practitioner who:

• Is a qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
• Has substantial post‑qualifying experience within Children’s Social Care, particularly in Assessment and Duty services.
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills and confident risk assessment practice.
• Has experience managing complex cases and supporting colleagues in developing their practice.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can make sound, defensible decisions under pressure.
• Is committed to improving outcomes and lived experiences for children and young people.
