RequirementsThe successful candidate will be required to speak English to an appropriate standard and be available outside of normal working hours as part of a standby rota to respond to out of hours service needs. A standardised standby payment will be made in respect of these duties.

Barnsley MBC has a strategic commitment to end Rough Sleeping. The Housing Led Support Team will use evidence based approaches to provide personalised, trauma informed support to people who are rough sleeping or who are at risk of rough sleeping. Support will be provided at the projects residential base or in the community.
We are seeking to recruit a pool of relief Support Workers to cover staff absences, working between six and eleven hour shifts, providing duty cover at our residential unit.
Shift Times Requiring Cover- 2 pm – 10 pm, 7 days a week
- 8 am – 2:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday
- 9:30 pm – 8:30 am, 7 days per week
Act as the first point of contact for the homeless out of hours emergency line and ensure the safety of residents and security of the site. Maintain accurate records, provide good all‑round communication, work independently, and demonstrate empathy, patience, and persistence with a range of needs and behaviours.
Enhancements to the hourly rate of pay will vary depending on the times and shifts worked. The majority of these shifts are lone working.
