Senior Social Worker - CIN​/CP

Our client Barnsley Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their CIN/CP team.

• Work in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers, building effective relationships to elicit needs and views, promote participation in decision‑making, and communicate skillfully and confidently in complex or high‑risk situations, applying an understanding of the benefits and limitations of partnership work.
• Undertake assessments in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy and service procedures; anticipate, assess and manage risk to children and young people in complex situations and produce high‑quality assessments.
• Plan, implement and review a range of interventions for children, young people and families/carers in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy and service procedures.
• Manage a complex workload independently, establishing a network of internal and external colleagues for advice and expertise, and model effective workload‑management skills for others.
• Make proactive use of supervision to support effective practice, reflection and career development, and to meet the objectives of Professional Development Reviews.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records safely and confidentially in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures; produce succinct, well‑structured records and reports that clearly document analyses and judgments.
• Proactively engage with colleagues and a range of organisations to identify, assess, plan for and support the needs of children, young people and families/carers, promoting positive change and independence while demonstrating confident judgment about risk.
• Play a positive role in practice development within the team, mentoring and modelling good practice in assessment, interventions, inter‑professional and inter‑agency work.
• Meet the requirements of the Professional Capabilities Framework at Experienced Social Worker level and of registration with the Health Care Professions Council regarding practice standards, conduct and professional development.
