Recruitment Services are seeking a Family Time Supervisor to work for our client based in Barnsley.

The primary focus of this role will be to facilitate and supervise family time (supervised contact) between children and their parents or family members. You will help ensure that family time is safe, positive, child-focused and supportive, while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and promoting the welfare and best interests of the child.

You will be responsible for observing and accurately recording family interactions, identifying and reporting any concerns, and producing clear, factual and timely records.

Alongside supervising family time, the role will include undertaking some direct work with children and completing home visits with children and families. You may also provide practical guidance and support to families, work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, and contribute to agreed plans and outcomes.

This is a fully office-based role in Barnsley, with travel required to support home visits and other work-related activities.

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Facilitate and supervise family time between children and their parents or family members.
Ensure that all family time sessions are safe, child-centred and conducted in line with agreed arrangements.
Observe and accurately record interactions, behaviour, engagement and any relevant concerns.
Produce clear, objective and timely written records and reports following family time sessions.
Build positive and professional relationships with children and families using a respectful, non-judgemental and inclusive approach.
Undertake direct work with children, where required, to support their wellbeing and individual needs.
Complete home visits with children and families as part of planned support and assessment work.
Recognise, respond to and report safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate and confidential records using relevant electronic recording systems.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to support positive outcomes for children and families.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and ongoing professional development.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hold a full UK driving licence.
Have access to their own vehicle and be able to travel as required for the role.

Experience of working with children, young people and families and will understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
