Are you an experienced Fostering Social Worker looking for an immediate locum placement in South Yorkshire?

Barnsley Council is currently seeking an experienced Supervisory Social Worker to join their Fostering Service to provide essential cover for long-term sick leave. Offering a competitive pay rate of £35.00 per hour, this role requires a candidate who can start as soon as possible to manage an established caseload of foster carers.

• Supervision & Support:
  Manage a dedicated caseload of foster carers, providing regular statutory supervision, guidance, and continuous professional support.
• Annual Reviews & Compliance:
  Complete timely statutory annual reviews, unannounced home visits, and ensure compliance with Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
• Placement Stability:
  Support foster placements to maintain stability, assisting with crisis intervention, risk management, and multi-agency care planning.
• Training & Development:
  Identify training needs for foster carers and support their ongoing development through the Training, Support and Development Standards (TSDS) framework.

• Professional Registration:
  Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
• Core Competencies:
  
  Proven post-qualifying experience within a statutory Fostering Team (mainstream foster care, connected persons/kinship care).
• Availability:
  Ability to start asap to ensure seamless service continuity.

  In-depth knowledge of Fostering Regulations, strong assessment capabilities, and excellent relational communication skills.
