Position: Young Women’s Project Worker @ HOME

The Children and Young People’s Empowerment Project (Chilypep) is a charity supporting vulnerable children and young people. For over 20 years, we’ve empowered thousands to campaign on issues that matter to them, focusing on youth-driven strategies and early intervention

At HOME we have developed a blended approach to therapeutic youth work which provides young people in Barnsley with a platform to seek safety and stability whilst then helping them to develop their skills, manage their emotions and handle their relationships.

HOME is staffed by a blended team of youth workers, mental health professionals and creative practitioners.

Salary scale:Scale 22 £ 30,708 to Scale 24 £ 32,523 Pro rata

Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week

Pension: 8% employer contribution

Leave entitlement: 38 days leave, including bank holidays (pro rata)

Place of work: Ground Floor, Wellington House, Market Street, Barnsley,
S70 1WA
(Temporary base)

Duration: Funded by Pilgrim Trust until 31st March 2029.

Practical Requirements: Ability to work flexibly around needs of the service and young people.

This job is open to female applicants only, in line with the “occupational

Closing date: Monday 21st September @ 9am, interviews to be held Thursday 1st October.

To support young women aged 16–25 as part of our new Girls@HOME project. The role will require delivery of both 121 and group work sessions.

The female project worker will use our ‘Different Conversations’ model to work one-to-one with young women to identify the issues that most affect them and find personalised strategies for success.

The young women’s project worker will be an experienced youth worker, who is able to work alongside young women to reach their goals, using a trauma informed approach.
