Smart Solutions are currently recruiting experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 (Category

C) Drivers to join our client in Barnsley / Darton.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular, ongoing work, guaranteed weekly shifts and competitive rates of pay, with enhanced rates available for Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

You’ll be joining a professional operation offering consistent work and the opportunity to build a long-term working relationship.

• £16.25 per hour – Start times between 4:00am and 1:00pm
• £18.25 per hour – Start times before 4:00am or after 1:00pm

• £19.25 per hour – Any start time

• £22.25 per hour – Any start time
• Minimum 5 shifts every week
• Drivers typically work 5 shifts one week and up to 6 shifts the following week
• Rolling Monday–Saturday working pattern
• Regular weekday start times, generally between 4:00am and 8:30am
• Ongoing work with the potential for long-term opportunities

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods safely and efficiently while providing a professional service to customers.

Your duties will include:

• Loading and unloading goods, including handball
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks
• Ensuring delivery paperwork is completed accurately
• Delivering goods safely and on time
• Following all relevant Driver Hours, Road Transport and Health & Safety regulations

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Minimum 2 years' HGV Class 2 / Category C driving experience
• A valid UK Category C (Class
  2) driving licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points, with no major endorsements
• Confidence with manual handling and handball
• A reliable, professional and punctual approach
• Good communication and customer service skills
