Senior Accountant

A growing chartered accountancy practice based in Barnstaple is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team, taking on the hands‑on delivery, preparation and review of year‑end accounts, tax and wider services to a mixed and varied industry client portfolio. You will also support the wider team as a key addition to this successful firm.

This highly regarded, independent chartered firm of accountants has a wide ranging client base across differing sectors, turnovers and industry ranges, from smaller sole traders and partnerships to large corporate clients.

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for the hands‑on delivery, preparation and review of year‑end accounts, tax, VAT management accounts, bookkeeping and a range of accountancy services for a varied client portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across many industry sectors. You will provide key support to managers and partners, playing a right‑hand role that offers opportunities for progression within a highly regarded firm.

Applicants may be AAT/ACCA qualified or have developed their career through experience only. You should have a background within UK accountancy practice, delivering services across year‑end accounts and general accountancy practice to a wide range of sole trade, partnership and limited company clients. You should have progressed to a senior accountant level and be looking for a long‑term fit within a supportive environment that recognises your contribution.

Circa £30,000 – £40,000, dependent on background experience and the appropriate professional level, plus benefits.
