About the role

At Leigh Academy Snowfields, we believe every child deserves the chance to succeed, no matter the challenges they face. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team - someone who truly cares about supporting young people with learning difficulties and helping them reach their full potential.

This isn’t just a job - it’s a chance to inspire, support, and empower students every single day.

We’re seeking a passionate, resilient, and enthusiastic individual who loves working with young people. Whether you have experience in schools, youth work, or voluntary roles, what matters most is your commitment to supporting students and embracing our vision for continuous improvement.

You will be based within our growing Post 16 provision, Pathfinder College, supporting students with ASD as they prepare for adulthood and the world of work. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing sixth form in its early stages, working alongside a dedicated team in a purpose-built environment designed to meet learners’ needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students access a broad, vocationally focused curriculum and develop the independence and confidence needed for their next steps.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with learning difficulties, including those with ASD, in accessing a broad, vocationally focused curriculum and developing independence and confidence for their next steps.
  • Work within the Post 16 provision, Pathfinder College, in a purpose-built environment designed to meet learners’ needs.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to enable students to prepare for adulthood and the world of work.
Qualifications & requirements
  • Passionate, resilient, and enthusiastic about working with young people.
  • Experience in schools, youth work, or voluntary roles is welcomed; the most important quality is commitment to supporting students and continuous improvement.
Why Join Leigh Academy Snowfields?

A welcoming and supportive team who share your passion. Every child is valued and celebrated. A fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience — ideal if you re considering a career in teaching.
