Job Description and Person Specification

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their potential?

At NDC, our H20 programme supports young people who may find traditional education challenging. Through personalised teaching, mentoring and pastoral support, we help learners rebuild confidence, develop resilience and successfully transition into college life and beyond.

We're looking for an inspirational and adaptable H20 Lecturer to join our Inclusion, Work & Independence team. This is more than a teaching role. It's an opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people's lives, helping them re-engage with education and take positive steps towards further study, training and employment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver engaging, personalised learning programmes tailored to individual needs.
  • Support learners in home, community and college-based environments.
  • Build positive relationships that inspire confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Act as a mentor and advocate for young people facing barriers to education.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Support learner progression, attendance, achievement and successful transitions into college learning.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has experience teaching, training, mentoring or supporting young people.
  • Can engage and motivate learners who may feel anxious, reluctant or disengaged from education.
  • Is creative, patient, resilient and committed to helping every learner succeed.
  • Can adapt their teaching and communication style to meet individual needs.
  • Believes in high aspirations and the transformative power of education.
  • Holds an appropriate teaching qualification and Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualifications.
Why Join Us?

At North Devon College, our values are at the heart of everything we do:

Ambition - empowering learners to achieve more.

Collaboration - working together to create opportunities.

Energy - inspiring positive change every day.

You'll join a supportive team that is committed to transforming lives through education, with opportunities for professional development and the chance to make a lasting impact on the future of young people across North Devon.
