Water mouth Castle is looking for confident, energetic and enthusiastic people to join our Halloween Entertainment Team for Pumpkins at the Castle this October half term.
This is a fun, hands-on role for people who love engaging with children and families and aren't afraid to get stuck in!
You'll help bring Pumpkins at the Castle to life through character performances, our interactive Trick or Treat Trail, children's activities, games and pop-up entertainment throughout the day.
You don't need to be a professional actor or entertainer. We're looking for big personalities, plenty of enthusiasm and people who are comfortable getting into character, speaking to groups and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
About the Role
As a Halloween Entertainment Team Member, you may:
Perform as one of our Halloween characters as part of the interactive Trick or Treat Trail
Learn simple character stories and scripts, while confidently improvising with guests
Lead children and families through interactive games, challenges and activities
Host seasonal activities such as pumpkin workshops, crafts and creative sessions
Help deliver bubble sessions, family games and other pop-up entertainment
Provide roaming entertainment and interact with families around the park
Help create a fun, welcoming and energetic atmosphere throughout the day
Set up, reset and tidy entertainment areas and activities
Look after costumes, props and entertainment equipment
Support other members of the Entertainment Team wherever needed throughout the day
The role will be varied, and flexibility is important. You may be performing a character during one part of the day and helping to run a children's activity or entertainment session later.

We're looking for people who are:
Confident, outgoing and enthusiastic
Comfortable speaking to and engaging with children and families
Happy performing in character and willing to learn simple scripts and stories
Able to improvise and react naturally to guests
Energetic and able to maintain enthusiasm throughout a busy day
Creative, playful and willing to get involved
Reliable, punctual and professional
Comfortable working as part of a team
Flexible and happy to support different entertainment activities throughout the day
Most importantly, we're looking for people who genuinely enjoy creating fun and memorable experiences for families.
Previous experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
Children's entertainment
Performing arts, drama or theatre
Holiday parks or visitor attractions
Children's clubs or activity programmes
Character or immersive performance
Hosting workshops, games or group activities
Singing, dancing, storytelling or other performance skills
Previous professional performance experience is not essential, and full training will be provided.
Availability
This is a temporary seasonal role running from 17 October to 1 November 2026, covering the October half-term and Halloween period.
We have a range of hours available throughout the event and are particularly interested in applicants with good availability across these dates.
Applications from people who are available for only part of the event period will also be considered.
Already a Children's Entertainer or Performer?
We'd also love to hear from experienced children's entertainers and professional performers who may be available for some or all of our Halloween programme.
If you have your own entertainment specialism — whether that's magic, bubbles, circus skills, storytelling, puppetry, singing, dancing or something completely different — we'd love to hear what you could bring to Pumpkins at the Castle.
Rates and opportunities for experienced professional entertainers may vary depending on experience, availability and the…
