Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist

This is a rotational post that covers the Respiratory and Medical teams across;
Critical care, General Surgery, Acute medicine, Frailty, and the Medical assessment unit.

Main duties of the job
  • To perform physio therapeutic assessment of patients, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To supervise Junior staff in their development.

We’re looking for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Respiratory Rotation at North Devon District Hospital. If you would like to progress your career in a forward-thinking therapy department then we want to hear from you.

Opportunities within this role include
  • To develop skills on critical care, surgical wards, paediatrics and in medical specialities.
  • Supervising Junior staff in their development and progression within their roles.
  • Service development and teaching opportunities within the established teaching programme and Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Working as a Multidisciplinary team within the Trust with excellent links and support from our respiratory consultants.

You will need to have Specialist knowledge, experience and an interest in Respiratory Physiotherapy and be willing to work in a variety of areas. You will be required to be an autonomous practitioner, to be up to date with evidence-based practice and be able to assess and treat patients who are acutely unwell and have complex needs.
