Occupational Therapist (Rotational)

The Occupational Therapy rotational post is suitable for the following:
- Newly qualified Occupational Therapists.
- Return to practice – This role would enable you to complete your return to work training so you can register as an Occupational Therapist.
- If you have been qualified for a while and are looking to broaden your experience.
Occupational Therapy in the Northern services forms part of the broader Therapy Team which is at the forefront of innovation and development, in both our services and our people. We are able to offer excellent experience in all core rotations, including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Surgical, Acute Medical (Respiratory/Cardiac) and Rehabilitation wards, Neurology, and Community Placements. The rotation programme is designed to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge by participating in Continual Professional Development and other training.

The Main duties of the job are:
- To assess and treat patients
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- To support and work with Therapy Clinical Support Workers and Therapy Assistant Practitioners.

The Occupational Therapy role provides an opportunity to develop skills in working across a variety of Acute and community settings. The job role requires post holders to rotate every six months. The rotations are across:
Acute Inpatient TeamThe Inpatient team at North Devon District Hospital offer rotations within Medical and Surgical (including Trauma and Orthopaedics). This will give an opportunity to work with an integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who have a forward‑thinking approach to rehabilitation and health care. The rotation offers opportunities to gain wide experience working in different settings including opportunity to work across Acute and community in the Orthopaedic supported discharge team.
NeuroRehab Team
The Neuro Rehab Team work across in‑patient, community and out‑patient settings to provide specialist, evidence‑based Neuro rehab to patients following stroke or other neurological diagnosis. Whilst on rotation within the service you…
