Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapy rotational post across North Devon is suitable for the following:
- Students who are in the final year of training to be an Occupational Therapist
- Return to practice – this role would enable you to complete your return to work training so you can register as an Occupational Therapist.
- If you have been qualified for a while and are looking to broaden your experience.
The role involves rotating every six months between Acute Inpatient, Neuro Rehab, and Community Teams. Each rotation provides opportunities to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and develop a wide range of clinical skills.

Acute Inpatient Team
The Inpatient team at North Devon District Hospital offers rotations within Medical and Surgical (including Trauma and Orthopaedics). This provides experience working with an integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
Neuro Rehab Team
The Neuro Rehab Team works across in-patient, community and out-patient settings providing specialist, evidence-based Neuro rehab to patients following stroke or other neurological diagnosis.
Community Team
The Community Service forms a vital link between Primary Care and Secondary Care, NHS Social Services and Voluntary Sector.

For newly qualified Occupational Therapists, those outside the UK, or returning to practice, the preceptorship programme will help build confidence and competence.
Working PatternMonday to Friday, 8.00 to 16.00, with additional weekend duties or a 7‑day rolling pattern.
